THE scrapping of car park charges at Scots hospitals has many in England looking on with envy.
Office workers, nurses, domestic staff and the rest who keep the NHS running had to spend a lot of their wages simply getting to their work.
But it was even worse for the patients and their families who were penalised for being sick and charged a fortune.
I am proud these charges have gone but the fact they won't apply to Private Finance Initiative hospitals is a disgrace.
The whole idea of PFI is something I have always hated.
It sickens me that hospital buildings we paid for and built make money for others with nothing going back into the NHS.
