Stone me, it's Sir Sean Connery

I WAS at a reception the other night in the Great Hall of Edinburgh Castle for the new film Stone Of Destiny.

It was a fantastic night with actors from the film and Shir Sean Connery and we got a tour to see the real - or is it? - Stone next to the Scottish Crown jewels.

More importantly, Ian Hamilton was there. He was one of the guys who carried out the raid on Westminster Abbey on Christmas Day in 1950 to steal the Stone Of Destiny and return it to Scotland.

A great plot and well worthy of a movie.

The tragedy is that it has taken non-Scots to tell the story. I was raging that the two female leads are not Scottish. I could think of a dozen good actresses in Scotland who weren't even seen for the parts.
