Wedding Is Simply Devine

I WAS at a fab wedding abroad last week...though not OK's "two million quid for your photies" nuptials of Coleen and Wayne.

It was equally as glitzy... though in true Scottish style.

The generosity of John and Donna Boyle to all their guests in Bermuda was just stunning - and from the heart too.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a wedding as much, even my own!

It was helped by the fact that The Proclaimers were the band but I don't think Craig and Charlie have quite recovered from seeing me and Newsnight's Kirsty Wark jumping up and down like eejits to Letter From America, shouting for them to throw us their pants.

But the best bit was when Muriel Gray and I got to meet Sydney Devine.

My dad was a huge fan but I had never seen Sydney before and in true Scottish cringe style - i.e. thinking people can only be any good if they have made it outside Scotland - I tended to dismiss him.

But his spot was fantastic and I soon understood why Sydney is the enduring star he is.

No wonder they are queuing round the block for tickets for his show in November at the Pavilion in Glasgow.
