THE Critics Awards - Scotland's ONLY awards for the theatre - are on in Glasgow next week but I bet there's not too many queuing round the block to beat the rush for tickets.
It's worth nothing except a pat on the back from folk who have never set foot on a stage but get their kicks writing about what other creative folk do.
Yes it's true that I am not up for a gong - though the panto I helped produce is up for the "ensemble award" (the only popular thing that is included by the way) but I guarantee you, this ain't bitterness.
Awards are great if they are from people you respect and admire so this bunch can shove their nomination.
Give me the Sunday Mail Great Scots any day - real awards for real people.
