SO Gordon Brown has finally been anointed as the new Prime Minister - well, at the end of June!
We will have to endure another six weeks of the longest goodbye in the history of politics from Tony Blair.
It's ridiculous. The coup to remove him happened last September, so why have we had to wait so long?
I believe Gordon Brown will be a better PM. There will still be spin but not as much - though the new buzz phrase is "no spin" - which, of course, is actually spin! His stance on the war, on Trident and the pensions debacle loom too large for me to support him.
He says he feels humble at the huge vote from MPs. Pity his henchmen did not feel the same.
They paraded around the halls of Westminster threatening wavering MPs with the political wilderness if they didn't support Gordy. Very humble, eh?
