POP singer Seal says his supermodel wife Heidi Klum is his No.1 fan - but also his fiercest critic.
When he told her about his ideas for his new album...she fell asleep.
"We were playing A Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke in the car," said Seal.
"I told Heidi I was going to record that song. She said, 'yeah, yeah' then nodded off.
"The track almost moved me to tears. Here was a man 44 years after his death singing, 'It's been a long time coming but a change is gonna come'.
"It seems more poignant now than when he recorded it in 1963."
Seal proposed to Heidi - who stars in a stunning new ad for hit video game Guitar Hero - at 14,000ft on a glacier in British Columbia.
The couple have two sons, three-year-old Henry Samuel and 18-month old Johan. Seal is also stepfather to Heidi's daughter Leni, 4.
Seal said: "When Heidi heard Soul she said, 'Wow, people have never have heard you sing like this before'."
The CD is a collection of covers of songs by legends such as James Brown, Otis Redding and Ben E. King.
Seal said: "My former producer Trevor Horn tried to get me to do covers for 20 years and I always said no.
"But I realised I'm a singer who performs great songs."
Seal shot to fame in 1990 with the single Crazy then scored hits with Killer, Prayer For The Dying and Kiss From A Rose, which won two Grammys in 1996.
Seal said: "If I didn't think I'd brought anything new to the track we ditched it.
"It's OK being able to talk the talk but you have to be walk the walk too. Musically, I can."
