FIGURE 5 are out to prove that good things really do come in threes.
The Glasgow rockers hope to match the success of The Fratellis and hotly-tipped Sergeant after being signed up by the same management.
On Thursday the group play their first headline show at King Tut's in Glasgow and four days later their new single Rock Of Gibraltar is released.
Lead singer Neil Donaldson reckons it's time they stepped into the limelight.
He said: "We played with The Fratellis in front of 8000 people at the Royal Albert Hall in London which was a great experience.
"But we don't have a rapport creatively with any other Scottish bands. I don't listen to that kind of music. We don't all hang around together.
"I always feel quite snobby when I say that but I'm more into 60s psychedelia. But we're delighted The Fratellis have helped thrust us into the limelight."
In August, Figure 5 release their as yet untitled debut album which features debut single Nitty Gritty plus Rock Of Gibraltar.
Neil said: "It's time for people to hear Figure 5 in their own right. We feel inspired and confident, we've got great songs which can't be ignored.
"We've been at Christchurch Studios in Bristol where Massive Attack recorded Mezzanine and the mixing desk was used on the first Spice Girls album.
Figure 5 went down a storm when they made their T in the Park debut last year. Now they're gearing up for Tut's.
Neil told me: "T was brilliant but Tut's is the big guy for me. It's our first headline date at the venue and we've got so many great new tunes to play."
