British backpacker raped by taxi driver in Argentina
A BRITISH backpacker has been raped at knife-point by a taxi driver in Argentina.
The 21-year-old student suffered the terrifying ordeal as she returned to a youth hostel at 5am after a night out in Buenos Aires.
As she got into the cab alone for a five-minute journey, the driver pulled out a blade and forced a hood over her head.
He drove her to a deserted area and assaulted her on the back seat before dumping her near the hostel. He also stole her mobile phone, bank card and £220.
The attack took place in the city's trendy Palmero district.
She had been studying Spanish and was due to return to the UK.
