Teenage girl told she 'doesn't exist'

THE family of a 16-year-old girl who does not officially "exist" last night pleaded for help to prove her identity.

Jade Jacobs-Brooks was born on a holiday to Spain but a mix-up resulted in the wrong documentation being issued.

The teenager is now left without a birth certificate and cannot open a bank account, get a job or apply for a passport.

Mum Linda, 56, of Harlow, Essex, said: "We need somebody to find a way round this. Jade can't get on with her life.

"We're at our wits' end. She has never even been on a day trip to France because she can't get a passport."
