Anger as BBC board shares £300K bonus

NINE members of the cost-cutting BBC board are set to share a £300,000 bonus.

The move has angered BBC staff as 2500 jobs have been axed and budgets cut.

Those understood to gain include chief operating officer Caroline Thompson and deputy director-general Mark Byford.

Director-General Mark Thompson is waiving his right to the bonus.

Tory MP Philip Davies said: "It's astonishing they can afford these bonuses."
