Manson death ranch dug up in body hunt

CHARLES Manson's hideout will be dug up next week in the hunt for more bodies - nearly four decades after his 1969 killing spree.

Forensic researchers have found at least two sites that could be graves at the Death Valley ranch in California where he took refuge after his cult slaughtered seven people, including actress Sharon Tate.

The four-day dig at Barker Ranch will start on May 20.

Inyo County Sheriff Bill Lutze said: "It is the only way to know once and for all if there are more bodies there."

Manson is serving life at Corcoran State jail.
