Family's Heartache On Anniversary Of Disappearance
KATE and Gerry McCann will soon be officially cleared of any involvement in Madeleine's disappearance, according to reports in Portugal yesterday.
The respected newspaper Expresso claimed they will be dropped as suspects.
But Alipio Ribeiro, national director of the Policia Judiciaria (PJ), said: "Nothing has been determined regarding possible charges or closing the case."
Gerry's brother, John, 48, from Glasgow, yesterday urged detectives to admit they have no evidence against the couple - and issue an apology.
John was in Portugal for anniversary services yesterday with Gerry's sister Trish Cameron, her husband Sandy, and Kate's cousin Michael Wright.
