Riccardo Pasquali was 20 when he was killed by a learner driver.

He was on a drive with pals when his friend allowed 17-year-old Kirstyn Bell to take the wheel.
She told passengers: "Tell me when you think I hit 90."

The Honda Civic car hit a verge and a signpost before flying through the air, killing Riccardo, a web design student at Stow College, Glasgow.

The High Court in Glasgow heard that Kirstyn had only been taking driving lessons for two months at the time of the crash.

She was later jailed for two years and banned from driving for five years following the crash at on Moor Road, Eaglesham, Renfrewshire, in November 2005.

His father Ivano, 57, of Glasgow, has been devastated by his son's death.

He said: "Young people must think about the consequences of their behaviour and imagine how their parents would feel as they lower their coffin into the ground.

"Cars can be lethal weapons in the hands of the careless."
