Knife victim Chris takes to the stage to get message across

TEENAGER Chris Ikolo was stabbed by a racist thug as he walked home from school in broad daylight.

The 16-year-old was yards from his house when a knife was plunged into his back last September.

Chris - who moved to Glasgow from war-torn Congo five years ago with mum Beiotsi, 40, and brother Yohan, seven - feared for his life.

He said: "I tried to run away, then I felt a sharp pain. It got harder to breathe and I thought I was dying."

He was taken to Glasgow's Victoria Infirmary where he had emergency surgery for wounds to a kidney. It took two months for him to heal and he remains nervous out on his own.

Now musician Chris is helping get the anti-knife message across.

He is playing a stabbing victim in play The Message which goes on tour next month.

He said: "No one should use a knife. They can do so much damage."
