A SHIP'S captain had his car vandalised after cheating on his longterm lover with a string of other women.
Romeo sea dog Jeremy Purvis' car was splattered with paint thinner by Mary Stevenson.
The 48-year-old, of Grangemouth, threw the solvent over Purvis's V50 Volvo after a friend tipped her off to his cheating.
They met four years ago at Forth Ports Authority in Grangemouth, where Stevenson was a secretary and Purvis, 45, a marine pilot responsible for guiding ships into port.
Despite the fall out, the couple still work there.
Stevenson, 48, of Grangemouth, was fined £200 and told to pay £250 compensation at Falkirk Sheriff Court last week after admitting the attack.
She said: "I knew Jeremy for four years. It was an on-off relationship. He met my daughters and we went on holiday.
"I discovered there were a string of other women and that was the end of us. I had always suspected something was going on.
"Two weeks before the incident he even bought me a commitment ring.
"I have put this man out of my life and just want to move on."
Stevenson's lawyer Murray Aitken said: "He had promised her the earth and didn't deliver.
"She described him as something of a cad."
Yesterday Purvis said: "I cannot comment as we work in close proximity to each other."
