TYCOON Donald Trump's £1billion golf resort plan is not at risk from the credit crunch because he is paying in cash.
The New York businessman is hoping the Scottish Government will approve the controversial billion-dollar development near Balmedie, Aberdeenshire.
His head of international development, George Sorial, said: "It is full steam ahead. World financial problems will not cause us to change our plans because Mr Trump uses cash for these kind of projects.
"The current market presents many opportunities. We recently bought a golf resort in New Jersey for £28million. The developer who previously owned it had spent £140million on it but went bankrupt."
The US billionaire claims the resort will create hundreds of jobs. But opponents say it will threaten wild birds and damage the local community.
