BAYERN Munich footballers will have their bank accounts checked by police probing allegations of Uefa match fixing.
Detectives say they have tapes of Russian gangsters boasting they knew in advance the result of Bayern's semi-final with Zenit St Petersburg, who went on to beat Rangers in the final in Manchester.
German police are working with colleagues in Spain, where 20 Russians have been arrested in a probe into contract killing and drugs and arms deals.
One of the Russians is Gennadios Petrov, said to be a major mobster.
It is claimed he is caught on tape talking about splashing out cash to fix the match.
