Cocaine dealing rapist blows his alias after cops see real name on tattoo

A NOTORIOUS rapist gave drugs police a false ID - but was rumbled when one officer spotted his real name tattooed on his arm.

Spencer "Hannibal the Cannibal" Mellors is behind bars again after being caught with £100,000 worth of drugs.

Police discovered cocaine and cannabis in his car and at the home he shared with his elderly mum in Glasgow's Easterhouse.

Mellors gave the police another name but officer spotted "Spencer" inked on his arm. Last week Mellors, 44, appeared at the High Court in Glasgow and was remanded after he admitted supplying cannabis and cocaine.

He was jailed for nine years in 1996 for raping a prostitute. That attack saw him dubbed "Hannibal the Cannibal" as he bit his victim's face and howled like a dog.

Mellors was caught with the drugs when police stopped his car in Easterhouse in January.

One officer smelled cannabis and discovered dope stashed in the boot. HismumJeanette, 74, claimed £18,300 cash found with a quantity of cocaine in her home had been saved from her pension over the past five years.

Mellors' lawyer said he suffered depression after being released from jail as cops constantly checked up on him so he turned to drugs.

He will be sentenced next month.
