Exclusive: Top referee accused of driving attack attempt

A TOP football referee has been accused of driving a sports car at his girlfriend's former lover.

Ex-police officer Craig Charleston was arrested over claims he tried to knock down prison officer Graham Sneddon.

The alleged incident happened after Mr Sneddon, 43, saw the whistler with his primary school teacher ex-girlfriend Sharon Wallace at a sports day in Falkirk.

The Grade 1 whistler - also awaiting trial for spitting on a traffic warden - denied an assault charge at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Charleston, 38, of Larbert, was bailed on condition he doesn't contact or approach Mr Sneddon.
