A MUM who spends eight hours a day dressing her dying daughter's wounds has had her carer's allowance cut.
Virginia Hood sleeps on the floor beside 19-year-old Alex's hospital bed.
Last week we revealed how "butterfly girl" Alex - whose skin blisters at the slightest touch - was given six months to live after contracting skin cancer.
Virginia, 48, no longer qualifies for the £50.55 a week payment because Dumfries-born Alex was admitted to St. Thomas' Hospital in Warwickshire.
Alex's dad Robin, 51, said he "cannot believe" what has happened.
A Government spokesman said the payments cease 28 days after admission to hospital.
