A POT Noodle TV advert which jokes girls should be kept in cupboards could be axed because of Austrian dungeon dad Josef Fritzl.
The ad, titled I Wish (That Girls Were More Like Pot Noodle) features a man covering a woman in noodles while singing an 80s power ballad.
Glasgow Councillor Aileen Colleran is among 24 people who complained to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
The Pot Noodle song goes: "If she lived in a cupboard things wouldn't be so tough ..."
Aileen Colleran, Labour member for Partick West, said the 'cupboard' joke was especially tasteless in the week news broke about the Fritzl case.
She added: "In the very same week that the shocking news came out about the abuse case in Austria where a woman was incarcerated by her father, this was tasteless in the extreme."
ASA spokeswoman Olivia Campbell confirmed the agency had begun investigating.
She said: "Most of the complaints were concerns that the ad came across as demeaning to women."
