Fallen boxing champion in hospital mystery

TROUBLED former boxing champion Scott Harrison will undergo surgery today after injuring his left hand in a mystery incident.

Harrison was admitted to Glasgow's Victoria Infirmary last night. He was accompanied by two male friends and also appeared to have an injured eye.

An eyewitness who saw him at the hospital said: "He was certainly the worse for wear. His eye was swollen and his friends had to stop him using his mobile phone. It looked as though he had impaled his hand on something."

Harrison, 30, who has been unable to box since his licence was suspended 18 months ago, was given community service last month for his part in a pub brawl in Glasgow.
