Family stunned by devoted gran's disappearance

Family And Pals Stunned By Devoted Gran's Disappearance

RELATIVES of missing mum and gran Linda Hill spoke of their disbelief that she would have disappeared on purpose.

They described her and husband Kenny as a happy couple.

Linda, 41, vanished from her seaside caravan home in Monifieth, Angus, a week ago. She had been on a night out with her husband the previous evening and was last seen just before 7am.

Holidaymakers at Riverview Caravan Park will today be quizzed by police over her disappearance.

A relative, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "Linda lives for her family - she would never do anything that would hurt them.

"We are all extremely worried. It's just not like Linda to just disappear.

"A lot of people only use their caravans at weekends. There is a chance there could be visitors and people from outside the area who may have useful information.

"Officers are also doing a leaflet drop at the site and surrounding area in the hope of jogging memories."

Linda and Kenny have been at Riverview for just under two years after selling their home in nearby Dundee, where they lived for more than a decade in Garvock Place.

Former neighbours Bert and Margaret Young said the pair appeared happy and were delighted when Claire gave birth to Blossom.

Margaret said: "Kenny was here only last week showing us pictures of the baby. He was so proud and happy. We can't believe she's just vanished." Bert, 74, added: "You couldn't wish for nicer neighbours."

Linda, who works for an engineering firm in Dundee, was last seen around 6.45am on Sunday when she left her home to go for a walk.

She was reported missing the following day - triggering a massive search and a nationwide appeal.

Police divers have searched the coast at nearby Barry Buddon army base.

On Thursday, handyman Kenny and Claire made an emotional plea for Linda, who was recovering from pneumonia, to come home.

The family member said: "Kenny and Linda are an extremely happy couple with no problems and no money worries."

A person was seen entering the sea from a nearby beach on the morning Linda disappeared but police say it was unlikely to be her.
