Superstars Jay-Z And Beyonce Got Hitched, Say Pals

HIP hop superstar Jay-Z and pop babe Beyonce have tied the knot in the rapper's home, friends claimed yesterday.

The multi-millionaire rapper and producer and his stunning singer fiancee are rumoured to have wed in a low-key ceremony.

They were said to have applied for a wedding licence last week and family and friends were seen arriving at his New York apartment for a bash.

They included Beyonce's mum Tina, dad Matthew and sister Solange.

The singer's Destiny's Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams also attended, as did Hollywood superstar Gwyneth Paltrow.

DJ Cassidy, a favourite of Jay-Z, was providing the music.

Huge bouquets and speakers were delivered to the rapper's penthouse for the party on Friday night and a marquee was put up on the roof.

Paparazzi and fans camped outside the star's home, in the Big Apple's Tribeca area, in the hopes of a glimpse of the happy couple. Jay-Z, 38, proposed during a romantic break in Cannes last May. The pair have been dating since 2002.

A pal told People magazine: "It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair - close friends and family."

There were rumours they tied the knot in January when they were spotted with tattoos of the Roman numeral IV on their ring fingers.

Hip hop star Jay-Z - real name Shawn Carter - was named the richest man in rap last year, earning £17million in 2006 alone.

Beyonce shot to fame with Destiny's Child before going solo and topping the charts with hits such as Beautiful Liar.

She also hit the No. 1 spot with two collaborations with Jay-Z, Deja Vu and Crazy In Love.
