THE number of £1million homes in Scotland is on the rise - despite the global credit crunch.
Last year 283 buyers spent more than that on their Scottish dream house - 120 up on 2006.
A little over half of those properties - 147 - were sold in Edinburgh, while at least 20 went for £2million plus.
Peter Lyell, of estate agents Savills, who did the research, said: "There's still a lot of money floating around the capital.
"People are prepared to spend a lot of money on good quality housing."
Seton Castle in East Lothian fetched most, selling for £5million.
