Alex Harvey's Hitler Guise Is My Top Rock Moment, Says MP

MP CHARLES KENNEDY has revealed his top rock moment - Scots singer Alex Harvey dressed as Hitler.

The ex-Lib Dem leader was blown away by the late singer's band playing Kennedy's favourite song I Was Framed live.

Kennedy chose The Sensational Alex Harvey Band's track on DJ Tom Russell's Rock Radio show.

He said: "I had the pleasure of seeing them at Parkhead in the 70s. Alex came on dressed as Hitler and played I Was Framed.

"He would probably be run out of town for that these days."

Kennedy is running for election as rector at Glasgow University.

He is up against lawyer Aamer Anwar, Patrick Harvie MSP and TV host Hardeep Singh Kohli.

He said: "I've had to sit out two Lib Dem leadership elections and twiddle my thumbs, so it's nice to get back in front of a real electorate again."

His campaign hit the headlines two weeks ago when Young Tory Jamie Johnston handed out Kennedy flyers.

Johnston and a friend were shamed when they put on a master and slave act at a Halloween party.

Kennedy said: "He was never really part of our team."

Polling is on Tuesday with the winner being declared on Wednesday.
