A BOXING champion is suing Boots for £10,000 damages claiming the firm prematurely KO'd his fight career.
Cruiserweight Sean Henvey, 33, said he was left with persistent back pain after one of the company's delivery lorries crashed into the back of his car.
Henvey, who took the Scottish title in 2002, said he was waiting at the exit of a petrol station near Dundee when the accident happened.
The former champ claims the pain meant he had to give up boxing and now coaches at a club near his home in Blairgowrie, Perthshire.
In a writ lodged at Perth Sheriff Court, Henvey alleges that the lorry driver's "fault and negligence mean the company are vicariously liable for causing the accident".
Boots are defending the action and evidence on the incident in December 2004 are to be heard later this year.
