Landowner Heaps Pile Of Manure On Politician

A MILLIONAIRE landowner dumped tons of dung on the doorstep of an ex-politician in a row over access to his estate.

Property tycoon Bill Roddie's estate staff tipped the steaming pile just 10 feet from the front door of countryside campaigner and former MSP Dennis Canavan.

Two weeks ago, the Sunday Mail revealed how Roddie was being probed by police following an assault on a jogger in the grounds of his £2million Sauchieburn House, near Bannockburn, Stirlingshire.

Mr Canavan said: "I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I went out of my door and spoke to the estate manager, who said, 'You're nothing but a publicity seeker so f*** off'."

"If he thinks he can intimidate me, he's picking on the wrong guy."

Convicted fraudster Roddie, 45, has waged a campaign to stop people setting foot on his 7000-acre estate under right-to-roam laws.

Stirling Council officials have ordered estate manager David Chlad to stop the illegal dumping.
