A GAY man has been found guilty of hurling homophobic abuse at a straight ex-policeman.
Marc Sneddon asked Stephen Whelehan, 39, if his wife knew he was in the closet during a row over their dogs.
Sneddon, 38, and partner Graham Spence had made several accusations against the former detective but the Procurator Fiscal decided not to prosecute.
Stephen, of Baillieston, Glasgow, said: "I'm delighted this is over. It's extremely insulting to be accused of homophobia."
Sneddon was convicted of breach of the peace and fined £150 at Glasgow Sheriff Court despite denying the charge.
