RIVER City star Stephen Purdon, who plays cult hero and Celtic fan Shellsuit Bob, is a passionate Rangers fan - and is busy trying to negotiate a day off from filming to go to Manchester.

He said: "The schedule is mad just now because we're filming double episodes. So I am trying to negotiate Wednesday and Thursday off - if we win, I'll need to take six months off!

"I'll be heading down to Manchester with my dad, family and my friends - about 16 of us. If I don't go, some mates will be up here anyway, so we'll go out and watch the game. It will turn into bedlam, wherever we are.

"I've not got a ticket, so we'll just be going to the fan zone but I'm so happy they are in the final and they have done absolutely brilliantly to get there.

"I never thought I'd see a European final in my lifetime. I'm so proud of them and want ot tell them to get in there and go for it."
