Rabies alert as puppy bites three people

THREE people have been bitten by a rabid puppy at a quarantine kennels.

Kim Cooling, who runs a charity which brings street dogs from Sri Lanka to Britain, said she had been nipped on the chin, wrist and face at the facility in north London, on Friday.

Kim was vaccinated and given a booster following the incident and said she was feeling well. Two kennel workers also recovered from bites from the eight-week-old animals.

The dog died on Friday and tests confirmed rabies. Another four puppies were later destroyed.

Kennels boss Jeremy Robinson said there was no cause for public concern.
