BRITNEY SPEARS snuggles up to a new pup - after being voted America's worst celebrity dog owner.

She was spotted cuddling the tiny Chihuahua at a Los Angeles pet store.

Animal welfare officers quizzed the 26-year-old after claims her Yorkshire Terrier's broken leg was left untreated until she provided them with a letter from a vet confirming he had seen the dog.

Meanwhile heiress Paris Hilton looks like being the next star who should be probed for animal cruelty. The reality TV star dressed her tiny mutt as a reindeer as she left a Miami Beach hotel.
