In A Totally Unscientific Experiment We Test Biscuit Firm's Claim They Can Increase Your Bust
IT sounds completely crackers but the latest fad for growing bigger boobs is ...eating biscuits.
The Japanese makers of F-Cup cookies claim munching two a day can boost your bust by a whole cup size.
Women cannot get enough of the sweet treats - each of which contains 50mg of a herb called Pueraria Mirifica.
It is said to mimic the effect of oestrogen to bulk up breast tissue. But are the makers telling whoppers?
We got beauty therapist Deborah Beattie to try them out.
After a month's trial, the 26-year-old's bust appeared to have grown by half an inch.
Now her boyfriend Mickey fears that - at s12.99 a box - he will be going bust.
B-cup Deborah, of Blantyre, Lanarkshire, said: "Even though I have not gone up to a C cup, my bust now measures 32.5 inches instead of 32. Although it's only a small increase, I see the difference when I put on a bikini or tight top. It's great.
"My boyfriend has also noticed the change and is worried I'll cost him a fortune in cookies."
The Japanese biscuits, in plain and chocolate, can be ordered online in packs of 14.
Deborah said: "Most girls are unhappy with their breast size and will buy uncomfortable bras that push boobs up and out.
"Munching a couple of biscuits a day was a much more pleasant way of enhancing my bust.
"I couldn't afford to make them part of my daily diet indefinitely but I might buy a couple of boxes in the run-up to big events."
Deborah, who runs Skin Deep Beauty in Burnbank, Lanarkshire, was worried the cookies might put on weight in other places. But after four weeks she has not added a millimetre to her 26-inch waist or bum. She said: "I was surprised it was onlymy bust that had changed."
But the pink-packaged snacks come with health warnings. They should not be eaten by pregnant women or during periods and exceeding the daily dose could have laxative side-effects.
Deborah said: "The health advice would put me off eating the cookies all the time but I had no side-effects. It was good fun."
DR GARETH SAYS
SUNDAY MAIL health expert DrGareth Smith admits itmight be possible for the cookies to make your boobs bigger but warns the effects will almost certainly be temporary and there could be risks.
AN intake of oestrogen or similar substance will cause women to put on weight on their bust and hip areas so it makes sense that these biscuits are causing boobs to plump up. But eating too many of these cookies over time could cause weight to pile on the bum - which I suspect most women will not like.
Excessive consumption of the biscuits could also upset the menstrual cycle and affect your fertility.
There are all sorts of wacky remedies and miracle cures out there but people must take care. Check out the active ingredients and don't take any chances. If it looks too good to be true then it usually is.
My advice to women would be to be wary of this quick-fix solution and stick with a padded bra.'
