A CAMPAIGNING teenager who battled a condition that made her skin blister at the slightest touch has died.
Alex Hood, 19, lived with epidermolysis bullosa all her life.
Any contact - even gently holding hands - would cause agonising pain and scarring.
Sufferers are called butterfly children because their skin is so fragile.
Alex, originally of Dumfries, died from skin cancer at home in Warwickshire on Thursday.
She told dad Robin: "I'm ready to go where there isn't any pain - it's up to you to carry on my fight."
Her dad said: "Alex has gone to a better place."
