BOOMER

This two-year-old Old English bull terrier lives with the Wemyss family in Hamilton.

Where did you get him?

From Ballycruick Kennels in Edinburgh.

What does he eat?

Bakers Complete dog food and tripe.

Where is the name from?

My son named him after rapper DMX's dog.

What does he like doing?

He loves running up and down the garden with a rubber bone. He can be out there for half an hour at a time.

How does he behave around people?

He loves them, especially one of my friends who he loves to carry on with.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

He nudges my husband off his chair about ten o'clock so that he can get up on it and sleep.

HARRY

This friendly greyhound lives with owner Myra Gemmell in Greenock.

Where did you get him?

From the greyhound rescue centre at Langbank seven weeks ago. He's around five years old and he raced in Ireland.

What does he eat?

Anything from Bakers Complete and Chum dog food to toast and banana.

Where is the name from?

He was already named when I got him so I kept it.

What does he like doing?

He loves to play on the beach, dashing in and out the sea or chasing a ball.

How does he behave around people?

He is very friendly. He loves people and other dogs.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

He has a fight with the dogs on TV when the Dog Whisperer is on.

KAYLEIGH

This eight-month-old Border terrier/Jack Russell cross lives with Nicole Dyet and her family in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow.

Where did you get her?

Aprivate sale in Stirling.

What does she eat?

She likes Pedigree Chum Dry Puppy Dog Food.

Where is the name from?

We were going to call her Kylie but changed our minds.

What does she like doing?

She loves chasing birds and also likes to get everyone to play with her and her toys.

She also sits on your knee and sleep.

How does she behave around people?

When visitors come in she can get a bit hyper but she settles down quickly.

What's the oddest thing she has done?

If you go in the shower you need to make sure that the door is shut as she loves to try and jump in with you. She also likes to watch nature programmes on TV and if she sees lions or tigers on the screen, she jumps up and barks at the telly.

This six-month-old minature schnauzer lives with the Milligan family in Crossford, Fife.

Where did you get him?

From a litter of eight puppies in Minishant, Ayrshire.

What does he eat?

Hill's Science Plan and Butcher's Puppy Pouches.

Where is the name from?

He's called after Russell Crowe's character Maximus from the movie Gladiator.

What does he like doing?

Sleeping, coming on to your lap for cuddles, playing with his toys and going for walks.

How does he behave around people?

He barks at strangers and anyone who rings the doorbell but he is friendly with people he knows.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

He is not greedy at meal times and picks at his food but if we bring out the vacuum cleaner he rushes to his bowl and wolfs down the lot immediately . He must think the vac is going to eat his dinner.
