ANGUS AND KALI

This 14-year-old cairn terrier and five-year-old lurcher/Alsatian cross live with Elly Hill in Crookston, Glasgow.

Where did you get them?

Angus came from a breeder in Hamilton and Kali came from Cardonald Dog Home.

What do they eat?

Angus eats anything. Kali eats dog food and treats.

What do they like doing?

Angus loves to escape if the gate is opened. Kali likes to carry a stick and chew it.

Where are the names from?

We wanted a Scottish name for Angus. Elly named Kali after a goddess.

How do they behave around people?

Angus is full of charm but can be stubborn. Kali's aim in life is to please.

What's the oddest thing they do?

Angus sometimes does a handstand when doing the toilet. Kali curls up in a ball to sleep in Angus' tiny bed.

SUZI

This four-year-old miniature schnauzer lives with Christine and George Craib in East Kilbride.

Where did you get her?

From a breeder in Carlisle.

What does she eat?

Burns Dried Food. She also loves vegetables - broccoli, carrots and Brussels sprouts are her favourites.

Where is the name from?

Christine's grandmother was nicknamed "old Suzi" and she lives up to her character.

What does she like doing?

Running with her doggy pals. We also take her to the beach at Prestwick as she likes going in the car.

How does she behave around people?

She barks at strangers but once she gets to know you she'll be your best pal.

What's the oddest thing she does?

At night she goes from room to room whimpering with her teddy in her mouth.

RUDI AND RAGS

These two-year-old mini Yorkies live in Glasgow. Rudi lives with Rene Hetherington and Rags with her mother Peggy.

Where did you get them?

From breeders in the Orkney Islands - they are cousins.

What do they eat?

Dog food. For treats, they like to have biscuits and chicken.

Where are the names from?

They are just names that we both liked and we thought they suited them.

What do they like doing?

Spending time together, playing with their toys and going for walks.

How do they behave around people?

They are both very friendly towards people and other dogs.

What's the oddest thing they do?

They are very funny. Rudi steals socks and every night at nine o'clock on the dot he sits and waits for me to go to bed. He's like an alarm clock.

ABBY

This three-year-old springer spaniel lives with Rachel, Suzanne, Rhona and Andy Ferguson in Neilston, Renfrewshire.

Where did you get her?

From a breeder in Edinburgh.

What does she eat?

Everything and anything she can get.

Where is the name from?

She was originally called Hidi but on the journey home after collecting her we decided we liked Abby better.

What does she like doing?

Playing with toys, looking out of the window and barking at strangers.

How does she behave around people?

She acts all defensive at first but once she settles down and they start to pet her she's lovely.

What's the oddest thing she does?

She has her own trampoline in the back garden which she lies and sleeps on during the summer.
