HARVEY

This 14-month-old West Highland terrier lives with Derek and Doreen Sweeney in Prestwick, Ayrshire.

Where did you get him?

From a local breeder when he was seven weeks old and he has been spoiled rotten ever since.

What does he eat?

James Wellbeloved dry food as he is on a glutenfree diet.

Where is the name from?

We feel it has character and it really suits him. His Kennel Club name is Brodick Boy Glen as his breeders love the isle of Arran.

What does he like doing?

Going on long walks on the beach and in the forest. He also loves "dog school".

How does he behave around people?

He gets on with everyone.

He is always full of fun.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

When he is in the garden he chases the planes flying over our house.

RIO

This seven-year-old Tibetan spaniel lives with Lesley Jeffrey in Macduff, Banffshire.

Where did you get him?

From a breeder in Burghead, near Elgin.

What does he eat?

Just about anything but his favourite is Pedigree dog food.

Where is the name from?

He is called after Rio Ferdinand, my granddaughter Shannon's favourite footballer.

What does he like doing?

Going for long walks down to the beach and playing with his toys.

How does he behave around people?

He is really friendly and gets along with everyone.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

When he comes out of the bath he loves to roll around on the carpet for ages, making a big hairy mess.

SAMMY AND SANDY

These nine-month-old kittens live with 12-year-old Rachel Blyth in Tranent, East Lothian.

Where did you get them?

They are sisters and I got them from a local pet shop.

What do they eat?

Tuna, ham and chicken.

Where are the names from?

Sandy was easy as she has a sandy bit on her nose.

And we chose Sammy for the other kitten because my mum thought it suited her and it goes with Sandy.

What do they like doing?

They enjoy running about the garden and they also love to sleep on their radiator bed.

How do they behave around people?

They are friendly around people and very chummy - especially when they want to be fed.

What's the oddest thing they have done?

They sneak into the kitchen cupboard for tubes of pasta and run around with it in their mouths.

DEACON

This six-year-old weimaraner who lives with Vicki Robertson and Brian Boyd in Maybole, Ayrshire.

Where did you get her?

From friends in Mauchline, Ayrshire.

What does she eat?

She loves toast in the morning. Dinner is usually dry meal mixed with a tin of dog food.

Where is the name from?

She is called after the group Deacon Blue.

What does she like doing?

She loves long walks around the golf course and eating.

How does she behave around people?

She loves everybody and particularly enjoys being cuddled. She is a very friendly dog.

What's the oddest thing she has done?

She stands with her front paws on your shoulders and dances to music. She also hides her pig ear treats in Vicki's shoe cupboard which is a bit yucky.
