BRACKEN AND MYLO

These Jack Russells live with Morag and Andy Jarvis in Inverness. Where did you get them?

Our friend's Jack Russell gave birth to her first litter and we adopted her pups.

What do they eat?

Dried, complete dog food.

Where are their names from?

Mylo is named after the Jack Russell in the Jim Carrey movie The Mask, while Bracken was the name our friend gave him. We liked it and decided to keep it.

What do they like doing?

They love chasing each other round the park and play fighting.

How do they behave around people?

They are both very friendly dogs and enjoy attention from anyone they come into contact with.

What's the oddest thing they have done?

They like to sit and groom one another - by cleaning each other's ears!

SCAMPI

This 18-month-old Lhaso apso lives with Maryann and Neil MacLeod in Fort William, Inverness-shire. Where did you get him?

From a breeder in Yorkshire.

What does he eat?

He loves chicken and fish as a treat but most mealtimes he has Pedigree Puppy pouches and Bakers dry food.

Where is the name from?

We thought of the name the day we brought him home. He is a lovely golden colour. Luckily, he also loves to eat scampi.

What does he like doing?

He loves going for long walks, playing with his rope and burying treats under cushions. He also likes being chased in the park.

How does he behave around people?

He loves people making a fuss of him and playing with children in the park.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

When he was six months he escaped through a gap in our gate and I found him round the corner crying on his brother's doorstep.

ALI AND JADE

Budgie Ali lives with Fraser McArthur in Erskine, Renfrewshire. Cocker spaniel Jade lives with Robert Patterson in Renfrew. Jade stays with Fraser when Robert is on holiday.

Where did you get them?

Ali came from a breeder in Barrhead, Renfrewshire, two years ago, while Jade came from a breeder in East Kilbride 11 years ago.

What do they eat?

Ali eats millet spray and a little seed, while Jade loves chicken and raw vegetables.

Where are the names from?

Ali is named after a certain football player, while Jade's dad thought Jade was a good name for an orange roan.

What do they like doing?

Ali likes sitting on your knee then falling asleep. Jade also likes sleeping.

How do they behave around people?

Ali is friendly but buries himself in his gran's hair, makes squawking noises and nips her ears. Jade is friendly and likes lots of cuddles.

What's the oddest thing they've done?

Jade's sings when Fraser plays his bagpipes.

FLOSSIE

This 12-year-old cat lives with eight-year-old Rebecca Cord's neighbours Dorothy and Alan Johnson in Ayr.

Where did you get her?

From a pet shop.

What does she eat?

Cat food.

Where is the name from?

It just seemed to suit her.

What does she like doing?

She likes to sit underneath the slide in the garden. It's her way of escaping the bright sunshine.

How does she behave around people?

Flossie is very friendly with her family and friends but is quite a shy moggy around strangers. She often runs away to hide when there are people she doesn't know around.

What's the oddest thing she has done?

She once left a dead mouse at her owners' back door as a "present" for them. I don't think they were too thrilled but her heart was in the right place!
