Fawks & Sidney Pets Corner

This flooding business has been a bit rubbish - all this water kicking about and I am not allowed to swim in it.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the river I usually swim in is so full of water and moving so fast that I can't go in that either.

Of course I am so strong and such a good swimmer that I would be fine but the humans are being over-protective as usual.

They think I'm still a puppy when actually I will be three at the end of the year. Even wee Siddy is two now - not that you would know it from looking at the wee squirt.

The worst thing about the floods was our dad took ages getting home from work at night which meant our walk was later than usual - and we are very impatient when it comes to the park.

The mud and stuff once we are out is fine - but getting hosed down after in the garden sucks. I make it as hard as possible, wriggling about loads, until I get shouted at.

The summer has been kind of rubbish really - we haven't had much sun at all.

Nothing is better than running about on a hot day then leaping into a nice cold river for a swim.

This year it has been more like running about in the cold, splashing through big muddy puddles then not being allowed in the river!

All Fawks has done for the last couple of weeks is moan about his precious river.

Honestly, you would think he owned it.

I think mum and dad should dig a big pond in our garden, then he can swim whenever he wants and I won't have to put up with him complaining.

Hmm, maybe we could get fish in it too and we could chase them about and bark at them. That's not a bad idea.

The only thing is, more stupid cats would come into the garden. As it is they usually sit behind the fence because they know the garden is my territory and I would bark at them if they came in.

If they dared come to try and steal our fish too I don't know what I would do - I would be so angry!

As my fans know I am not keen on cats at the best of times. That one across the street still keeps sitting on our window sill to wind me up. I'll get him one day.

I wish the rain would stop - I hate getting my paws wet and dirty. I am a gent after all.
