GIZMO AND BULLSEYE

Staffordshire bull terrier Gizmo, six, and dalmatian/English bull terrier cross Bullseye, four, live with Mick and Mary Oakes in Strathaven, Lanarkshire.

Where did you get them?

Gizmo is from a breeder in Falkirk and Bullseye from one in Govan, Glasgow. Both were only six weeks old.

What do they eat?

Dry dog food with an Oxo cube. Gizmo is a fussy eater but Bullseye will try anything.

Where are the names from?

Gizmo looks like a Gremlin while Bullseye is named after Bill Sykes' dog in Oliver Twist.

What do they like doing?

Long walks, sleeping and going for drives in the car.

How do they behave around people?

They are friendly and love playing with kids in the park.

What's the oddest thing they have done?

Bullseye once swallowed his ball and almost choked.

HARVEY

This 18-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier lives with Ninny and Tata Hodgson in Penrith, Cumbria.

Where did you get him?

From a friend, Kelly, who owns Harvey's mum, Millie. He is one of eight pups.

What does he eat?

Everything, including soft furniture. His favourite foods are beef, chicken and salmon but he enjoys apples and pears too.

Where is his name from?

He was called after the posh store Harvey Nichols.

What does he like doing?

Playing tug-of-war, chasing balls in the garden, eating treats and being cuddled.

How does he behave around people?

He is very friendly and loves meeting new people.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

He stole a tin of custard out of the cupboard and ran around with it like a prize.

LARA

This two-and-a-half-year-old cocker spaniel lives with the Easton family in Airdrie.

Where did you get her?

From a breeder in Perth.

What does she eat?

Iams dog food but she loves carrots as a treat.

Where is her name from?

She was named after action heroine Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider movies and video games.

What does she like doing?

Chasing her frisbee, tennis ball and rugby ball. She also likes playing with other dogs when she meets them out on her walks.

How does she behave around people?

Lara is a very friendly dog who loves everyone she meets, including strangers.

What's the oddest thing she has done?

When our guinea pig is out of his cage and running around on the floor, Lara likes sniffing him before giving him a wash.

OZZY AND TED

These two-year-old lhasa apsos live with Irene, Jim and William Kennedy in Law, near Carluke, Lanarkshire.

Where did you get them?

From a breeder in Hamilton, Lanarkshire.

What do they eat?

They love Bakers Complete dog food and chicken breasts.

Where are the names from?

Ted is a shortened version of his full name, Teddy Bears' Picnic. Ozzy was called after rocker Ozzy Osbourne because he looks like him.

What do they like doing?

They love to play with each other and chase the neighbourhood cats.

How do they behave around people?

They are both very friendly and happy to give out cuddles, although Ted can be quite timid around strangers.

What's the oddest thing they have done?

They both like to steal things. Ozzy likes to hide our socks and has acquired quite a collection. Ted likes to take anything that belongs to Ozzy.
