PEPPER

This two-year-old cross-breed lives with the Boyd family in Hurlford, Ayrshire.

Where did you get her?

From a couple in Kilmarnock.

What does she eat?

Pedigree dog meat but she will never refuse cheese, tuna and steak.

Where is her name from?

When she was a puppy she had tiny grey spots on her face and head.

What does she like doing?

Making us throw her toys so she can bring them back. She also loves getting very muddy on long walks, having her tummy rubbed and being brushed. She also enjoys trips in the car.

How does she behave around people?

She is very affectionate but can be wary of strangers.

What's the oddest thing she has done?

She sleeps on top of the wheelie bin when it's sunny.

MACK

This four-and-a-half-year-old cocker spaniel lives with 11-year-old Corinne Menmuir in Craigie, Ayrshire.

Where did you get him?

He was a gift for my seventh birthday and bought from a breeder in Glenrothes.

What does he eat?

Dry Iams and a biscuit for bedtime but he will scoff anything he can get his paws on.

Where is his name from?

My dad had a dog with the same name when he was young.

What does he like doing?

He is great at football and also likes to sit on your lap for a cuddle.

How does he behave around people?

He loves people but barks at old men wearing hats.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

He likes to hide behind the curtain with only his head poking out. He also likes to eat pistachio nuts with their shells on.

MICKEY

This 12-year-old terrier-cross lives with 10-year-old Emma Young and her parents in Kirkcaldy.

Where did you get him?

From my uncle after his dog had pups.

What does he eat?

Pets At Home's dried food but he loves ice cream and pickled onion flavour Monster Munch as a treat.

Where is his name from?

It was inspired by his mum, who is called Minnie.

What does he like doing?

He loves to chase squirrels when out on walks and sleep.

How does he behave around people?

He gets very excited when someone comes to the house and always demands attention from them. He is very affectionate and is everyone's friend.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

He walked into a lamppost once. Another time he tried to jump into the back of my dad's car but the boot was closed.

WHISKEY

This cavalier King Charles spaniel lives with 13-year-old Sarah Gillespie in Forth, Lanarkshire.

Where did you get him?

From a breeder in Kilsyth when he was just eight weeks old.

What does he eat?

He is very fussy but favourites include Pedigree and Bakers gravy bites, Winalot and scraps. We like to give him a variety of food.

Where is the name from?

We couldn't decide between Whiskey and Murphy but most of the family liked the former best.

What does he like doing?

Sleeping on your knee, getting cuddles and being played with constantly.

How does he behave around people?

He is very friendly and very good with children.

What's the oddest thing he has done?

He climbs on to the back of the couch to lie down and sleep on your head. He snores loudly and dribbles down the side of your face.
