Animal Magic: Check Your Chips Before You Jet Off

Many owners can't bear to be parted from their pet pals when they jet off on holiday and insist on taking them.

If you decide to do the same, do these important things first:

Ensure your pet has been rabies blood tested. This must be completed six months before your animal can return to the UK without quarantine.

Have your pet microchipped in case they get lost. If they have a chip, check it is fully functional.

Confirm your route of travel and carrier to ensure you have all the relevant documentation.

If you are travelling in the EU, you must have your animal treated by a vet with an approved flea and worm treatment between 24 and 48 hours prior to your return to the UK.
