ANIMAL MAGIC: WE FIGHT BOXER BRUNO'S CORNER

We heard a sad story this week about a very special dog in need of a good home - so we decided to do all we can to help him out.

As our regular readers know Sidney and I get very upset when we hear about poor wee homeless dogs.

We are spoiled compared to some pets. In fact we live like doggy royalty but don't tell mum and dad that - we like to make them feel they don't pamper us enough.

But Bruno has had hard time of it lately, being made homeless.

He is a one-year-old deaf boxer who lives with Boxer Welfare Scotland.

The nice ladies there are fans of ours so asked us to appeal to our readers to see if anyone can help Bruno out - so instead of a column each this week we are just doing this wee bit.

Please help poor Bruno because every dog deserves a home like ours. Bruno is a one-year-old, deaf, white boxer who is extremely handsome. Unfortunately he is a handful and his previous owners could no longer cope with him.

He does require a lot of training, hence his need for rehoming. He is very affectionate and loving and just loves to be around people.

Being deaf means Bruno not only has to be taught the basics of training but he has to be taught them in such a way that he can understand.

Already he responds to hand signals for sit and stay but being an excitable pup, gaining his attention is often tricky!

Bruno really needs a new home where people have got a lot of boxer experience, ideally, deaf dog experience, and perhaps a playmate who he can learn from.

Deaf dogs learn quicker when they have another four legged friend to pick up tips from!

If you think you could offer Bruno the loving new home he deserves, please contact Lorraine by phoning 01779 812799.

Or visit the charity's website at www.boxerwelfarescotland.co.uk and fill in an application form.

You can also find out about the great work those kind ladies do.
