ANIMAL MAGIC: FIRST BIRTHDAY BASH FOR ZEBRA CROSSING

How's this for a zebra crossing? Eclyse the zorse, born to a mare and zebra, has just celebrated her first birthday.

Sporting her father's magnificent stripes on her face and rear, the rest of her body is white.

She was born after her mum Eclipse left her home at a German safari park for a break at a ranch in Italy, home to zebra Ulysees. Their foal now has her own enclosure at a safari park in Schloss Holte Stukenbrock, Germany, and is a huge hit with visitors.

Sadly, she will not be able to breed as most cross-species are sterile.

Horses and zebras often breed, especially in Africa.

There, the zorses or horsebras - which have a horse father, zebra mother - are used as trekking animals.
