Mum Claire boiling mad after kettle explodes

CLAIRE JOHNSTON got the fright of her life when a kettle exploded in her kitchen - spraying her with boiling water and blowing a hole in the ceiling.

Shocked Claire, 25, was off work for a month with burns to her arms and stomach after the freak accident in January.

She returned the kettle to Asda for testing but they took weeks to get back to her - then found no fault.

Claire, of Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, said: "There was a huge bang, like a firework..

"The kettle blew up, spraying me with boiling water and bits of plastic. I was hysterical."

Claire, mum to Kimberley, seven, and two-year-old Josh, contacted her local council who confirmed the electrics in her house were safe.

Asda refused to listen to

Claire and husband Derek, 25, so she called me in.

I got on to Asda, who said: "We're sorry for the delay and distress. We'll get back to Mrs Johnston this week."

If Claire does not get answers, you will be hearing all about it.
