Puppy love for heartbreak kids

HERE'S a happy ending to a puppy dog tale. I told last week how mum Gillian Mchendry lost £1800 to a conman who promised a dog free to a good home but failed to deliver.

Kids Caitlin, eight, and three-year-old Ben were devastated but generous reader Donald Mackinnon stepped in to offer them a Border Collie pup.

They met their new pet - which they've named Holly - at Donald's farm in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire. She'll stay with her mum for another fortnight.

Gillian, 26, of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, said: "The kids are jumping for joy.

Donald surprised them when he pulled back a bale of hay in his barn to reveal Holly sound asleep with her brothers and sisters. It was like something from a Disney movie."
