Must I pay for fire van?

TOOK out a van on contract hire but it was too costly. It was then set on fire on a showroom forecourt. I cancelled my insurance. Now the finance firm are threatening to sue.

YOU must establish who owned it at the time of resale. If you can prove it was the dealer, you are covered by their occupiers' liability insurance.
