I HAVE worked for a firm for 27 years and been overlooked for promotion three times in recent years. On each occasion I was left to train the new member of staff and it turned out he was related to or friends with the MD. Do I have grounds for constructive dismissal?
YOU do but you should raise a formal grievance with the company before considering constructive dismissal. Submit the grievance in writing and allow the procedure to take its course. If this does not lead to you being given a promoted post, consider further action.
