Council Deserve A Kicking

I'M putting the boot into Midlothian Council today for their shocking treatment of a kids' football club.

The 120-strong Bonnyrigg Rose Youth Academy face an £8500 electricity bill.

The council, who paid the bill for four years, claim the squad are liable for heating their pavilion. But the team say the heat came on at night without them knowing.

Chairman Alex Chapman, 45, of Lasswade, said: "We play outside, not indoors." A council spokesperson said: "The club has total control of the heating."

ScottishPower said: "The electricity has been used and the bill must be paid."

And I say - sort it out fast or I'll tackle you next week.
