Q I'M a trainee in an accountancy firm and have become involved in a relationship with one of our clients. People are starting to talk. Is my job safe? - Linda, Dumfries.

A UNLESS there is a clause in your contract, legally it's difficult to control relationships that form through work. But if the relationship starts to affect your work then you could be dealt with under usual performance rules.
